My N93 is Beginning to Wear Out

A few months ago, I shouted up and down with glee as I opened the box containing the N93. Fast foward to today and my excitement for it is beginning to waver, as the quality is starting to suffer. First off, the main hinge that connects the two halves of the phone can now start to move left and right, say a quarter of an inch in each direction. At times when playing java games, the phone freezes for a few minutes and shuts off by itself. Also, the external keys used as music playback buttons at times, will not respond at all and I have to end up restarting the phone. Has this happened with anyone else?

Wirelessly posted (Series 60: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Symbian OS; Nokia N93/20.0.058; 9730) Opera 8.65 [en])

For the software side of things (freezing up, having to reboot, etc) you probably need to do a hard reset.. I do one every few months just as routine maintenance, works wonders for your OS.

I have the latest firmware edition right now. I was quite surprised about the moving hinge though because the phone was made in finland.

Mine is made by Nokia and no hardware problems or movement from left to right.

And like others said, a periodical hardware reset does wonders, just remember to backup.

I got mine since Oct. 6 last year, and still got no problems... well except that sometimes, loading time is very slow(opening text messages, programs, etc.).

sms accelerator and limiting the amount will give you improved performance...also, make sure your messages get saved to your phone and not your card.
