My Motorola Droid won't lock anymore & won't let me receive calls what do i do?

My phone was working fine until i put it down to charge and now it won't lock my phone. When i press the black button on top of the phone to lock it...the unlock pattern screen won't show up. & now it won't let me receive calls. And when i press the button to turn off the phone...its the only option. Any help to fix this?
