My mother is in a nursing home. She had what appeared to be ant or spider bites on the palm of her hand. They were red, now they are black and spreading up her arm and are very sore where as they started out itchy. As they spread, they are red in color then eventually turn black. The doc will not run blood tests and the nurses say the doc doesn't know what it is. I thought staph or cellulitis, but she has had both before and do not look like what she has now. She is on very strong antibodics, bactrim and something like dycocyoline??? Any idea what these could be? Only located on her right palm and arm. I have pictures too, but not sure if I can post them on here or not.
