My mother-in-law can really over react what's the best way...?

My Mother in law can go nuts sometimes. She was just here like a week ago and the whole time telling me and my husband we are way to young for kids. Last time we did something she didn't like she really hurt my husband. What are some good ways of letting her know that weather she likes it or not we have excepting? (Trying to prevent a repeat of the last incident, just a small insight she told him she'd never talk to him again and stop talking to him for a soild 2 weeks)
 
Wow... just sit her down and let her know exactly how you feel, that you and ur husband have yalls own lives now, and when you two married, you became one, so you two are old enough to make your own decisions wether she likes it or not.. Hope i helped, but could you help me?
