My mom added me as a dependent to her apartment when I was 18 but I didn't live there. I was going to school in a different city and have my transcripts and lease from a different apt complex that shows I didn't live there. I tried to work with the apartments to fix my info but they want me to pay them $300 and I don't think I should have to pay money to someone I don't owe. Is there a way I can go around them and get this off my history by checking it on my credit and disputing it?
P.s. My mother didn't know that it would go on my rental history since she only added me as a dependent and I didn't sign anything she also has to pay it back to.
