Okay, so my mother will be divorcing my stepdad over the next few months (probably May 2011) and moving out on her own. I was just wondering, if my mother is out on her own and doesnt not require my stepdad's income anymore....can I just put her information only on next year's (2012-2013) FAFSA? I am wondering because his information as always been on my FAFSA and I will no longer be dependent on him. But what if they are not legally divorced but just seperated by the filing time? I wanted to know because I will probably receive more aid because she receives social security disability benefits. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
