my media player can not play many videos (not corrupted) showing a message saying "reduce resolution" ?

I have windows 7 ... most recent windows media player (when I look for update it return: this is the most recent version)
many other videos still running by my media player ....
the videos that can not be played by my media player are intact and I could see them by other programs... I guess they have the VOB extention ..
I will greatly appreciate your help
