I have a mazda 626 2001 4 cyl and the engine started to tick, this happened to start after i realized that it was really low on oil, the idiot that changed the oil didnt put the proper ammount in it and when i went to check it 500 miles later it had already began to tick. This is the symtoms:
-Engine ticks at 2000rpm through 2500 RPM and slowly Progresses up as the car shifts up tho a higher gear
ENGINE TICKS AT THESE RPM's at the following perspective gears:
-1 gear 2000-2500 RPM
-2 gear 2250-2750 RPM
-3 gear 2500-3000 RPM
-4 gear 2750-3250 RPM
- OD/NTRL 3000-3500 RPM
Ticking only occurs when accelerating or slowing gasing the engine down, if i suddenly take my foot off the gas it stops, if i gas it back up it starts up again, it sounds just like a clock ticking increasing as RPMS increase. Could this be a valve taping or an engine bearing?
