My male friend is going through a nasty pre-divorce scenario. His wife has called...

...the police several times.? Each time, they escorted him to a place of his choice to stay the night. Last night his wife threw a metal toy at him (with their 6-year-old sitting next to him) and he was injured. She phoned the police saying he attacked her. I do know that she has injured him before.

So what are his rights? I assume he is entitled to go back to the home and sleep in the spare room, but should he take any legal steps or make a complaint to the police? This is a UK location.

Thanks in advance.

Okay, so now we know that this woman is a liar and this guy is too stupid to establish the proper boundaries around him and his child. How many times will he go to jail before he comes to know that he can't be in the same room with her alone?
DAH!
He really needs to grow up and establish the proper boundaries. Maybe the 12th or 18th time in jail he'll figure it out.

Leave file charges of assault against her, put up a camera in the house and hide it. Then leave and take full custody of the child. I am in Australia, our laws are the same, that is the only way to do it. Here unless you can prove the mother is unstable, which is the case, you need proof. I have seen a father get full custody in court because of the same scenario.
