no, its not uncommon, birds will become very attached to a particular person in their lives. however, you usually dont want to let the attachment get this far because it will make it almost impossible for anyone else to handle him, and then you got the whole protectiveness thing, which isnt good in a bird because you dont want it biting your guests!
