i've been hoarse for a month and 2 weeks now, first i thought it was vocal abuse cause i'm a singer and used to practice 2 hours per day, i went on vocal rest to see if i could solve the problem but it only got worse, after a week of vocal rest i could barely speak my parents thought i was making this up and even offered taking me to a shrink, then i spent the little money i had on an ENT and he diagnosed me with LPR didn't gave me any meRAB just sent me to the gastroenterologist, i went to a general doctor who gave me reglan before meals and prilosec 20 mg at night (1) after 15 days i saw barely any improvement i got some of the low part of my voice back but 4 days later im the same as i was before the pills, (i sound like a 13 year old boy having a voice change, like i'm crying, shaky voice) this is constant doesn't improve my voice feels tired 24/7 except for the first 2 worRAB i say in the morning from there it all goes down hill, the dr. put me on 2 prilosec 20mg at night and 20mg in the morning i started yesterday, no idea if it's gonna work, i tried the apple cider thing yesterday and im not 100% sure but i think it got rid of the acidic taste in my mouth , my symptoms are hoarseness, acid taste in the mouth, lots of burping (i dont know how related that is cause i've had this problem for years before having LPR) idk but i think the LES relaxes when you burp ..idk if anyone can confirm that one, i've read a lot of stories of LPR sufferers and it seems like hell, by now i've pretty much given up on singing, i don't see myself singing with a constantly irritated throat life's a b****
