Is about to spend almost £200,00 on gadgets for the councillors.

Apparently they are all to be issued with computers, cell phones and paid for broadband connections to be able to carry out their duties whilst at home.

Good value for money?
Hi Bust

I can well understand your frustration, Lincolnshire council applied for a poll tax increase of £2/week just to fund the police in the area, another 6 councils wanted increases up to %80.
The government has capped these councils who now claim that services will be cut, well just how much more can the services be cut.

Next time you vote (or dont as the case may be) take a long hard look at the councillors and what they stand for (no matter what party they represent).
Stand for election yourself and make a difference or vote for someone who will.

cheersBB

They've got a bl00dy cheek, i am disgusted with the whole situation. I remember being given £125 to furnish a 2 bed house when i gave birth to my 1st child, then the sods said i had to pay it back. Now we see on the news the ridiculous amounts the MPs get to spend on gadgets and gardens, it really boils my blood. My tax has paid for this, but when i fell on hard times last summer i was told i was not eligible for help. I worked out i have paid more than £84000 in tax over the last 20 years simply so our MPs can live in luxury while the majority of this country struggle to eat or stay warm in the winter GRRRRRRRR x

well the councillors are only trying them out to see which one is best to give out to all the Asylum Seekers,No jobs, and the long term lazy...at least you will know where nice we spend ll your money people care about!!! Themselves

Absolutely disgusting. What a complete waste of resources.
We are fighting to keep one of our Community youth workers. The local council doesn't fund her,so she has to apply for outside funding,of which the last contract is up at next week. She brings so much, and does so much for the kids around our place. If she loses her job,it would be absolutely devastating for the kids around ours. She give them a sense of self worth and teaches them new skills to help them grow into responsible adults. If we lose her, they'll end up hanging around the streets again.
The cost of 1 set of the equiptment package your council is giving away, would keep her in her job for a year,if not longer.
Sorry for the rant Stephen. But that has really boiled my blood

No, and it's one thing I'm still prepared to protest about, local issues, watch them squirm at local meetings. They have these gadgets anyway and it costs them no more to use them officially as well as privately.
