It is a Toshiba Satellite A200 with Windows Vista. I am trying to move some of my music from cd to ipod, but my laptop will not play any kind of cd (be that one I bought in a store, or, one I burned myself). Nor will it play any dvds. I changed my settings in control panel to allow all cds and dvds to play using Windows Media Player and still nothing. Nothing works under Media Center either. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like your CD Drive is faulty. You will need to contact toshiba or the company your purchased it from.

If the laptop is under 12 months old you are entitled to a free fix, refund or replacement.......

It is possible that your drivers somehow became uninstalled. You may have to get the hardware CD that came with your laptop and re-install them. Also, you should try going through my computer and opening the properties. There may be some option checked or unchecked that you need to changed.
