My laptop does not recognize USB flash drive?

I have a SanDisk 4gb flash drive. My XP desktop recognizes it but my Vista laptop does not. I also have a smaller SanDisk flash drive (2gb), both my desktop and Vista recognizes it. Does anyone have a solution for this? Or know the reason why? Thanks in advance! :)
