My keys got stuck in the ignition of my car, what do I do?

Today my sister was driving my car and she got my car keys stuck in the ignition. My car is a 2001 GM Grand Prix GT and I can still turn it on and drive it, i just can't get the keys out. Do I have to bring it in to a mechanic or can I fix it myself? Answers are greatly appreciated.
 
The car probably has a chip built into the keys. If the keys were made at a hardware store then the keys don't have a chip in them. Therefore it wont let them come out. You have to get the dealer or a mechanic to get them out.
