It is a 88 auto 4.0 inline 6, stock and I need some help. For the last year i've had the problem where I turn the key and the car turns on but the engine does not turn over. For some reason if I jiggle the stick in park and get it in a certain position it will then ignite-while holding the key in the starting position. I was ok with this but the other day I was driving(about 15 mph with minor acceleration) and the engine just died. No sputtering or anything. The car was still on but the engine was off. I was able to start it again but it has happened 3 times to me and is sort of dangerous depending on where it happens. It may be the crankshaft position sensor but I was hoping to get some more definitive advice.
