...is on gas? i have a 1996 jeep grand cherokee laredo, automatic, 6 cylinder, 4x4. i had trouble starting it before so i bought new starter, and it also needed a new battery. after those were installed it ran very good, and always started up. i let it sit for about a month and i go to start it and it wont turn over or do anything. it makes no noise at all. so i get jumper cables and go to jump it. i have to let it sit for a few minutes with cables, and it still wont start. so then i give it some gas with cables still attached and it starts. so i rev it at about 1000 rpms for a few seconds and then let go of the gas (cables still attatched) and it goes to die. so i start it again and it does the same thing. so i start it yet again with someone giving it gas and i dissconnect the cables, then let go of the gas, and it goes to die. it will drive but you have to let go of the gas and throw it in drive real quick and then give it gas again and its fine as long as your foot is on the gas. but the second you take it off it shuts off. im not quite sure what the problem is, ive heard a few different things but idk. i know for sure that the battery is good. any ideas?? thank you very much

I'm no mechanic, but my dad says always get the best battery you can; it can make all the difference. That means one with the greatest crank or power or something like that. I hope you got a good battery, otherwise I'd go get another one, the biggest one that will fit in your vehicle. Then if that doesn't fix it, at least you have plenty of battery power!
