My Jeep shakes out of control when i step on the brakes from 40-60 mph.?

It doesnt shake any other speed than that and it feels as if its on the driver front side only. My uncle says my brakes could go completely out if I dont get it fixed ASAP but I dont have the money for a costly repair. Any know what this could be and if its expensive?
