My Jeep is overheating, what can I do to stop that from happening?

I have a 1988 Jeep Wrangler and it keeps on getting too hot too fast. On a hot day I can't go more than 4 or 5 miles before my temperature gauge starts to go into the "red zone" of 260 degrees or more. I have replaced the thermostat and my radiator is clean and does not need flushing. My water pump is working, my snake belt is relatively new, and I have a fixed fan instead of a clutch fan to keep it even cooler. I have also turned my idle down to about 5rpms so it shouldn't get hot at stop lights.
what else can I do?
