music. help!?!? i let it dry out for about a day, and i just thought i'd try to turn it on this morning, and it needed plugged in. its working ok, the screen is a little weird, like you can tell it got wet, but now it won't play music. wondering if apple will send me a new one, i 'm still under warranty until dec. 19.
also, my ipod isn't jailbroken, will that help me get it replaced??

I firstly suggest you 'restore' your ipod. Plug it into your computer and click restore on the ipod information page. This will erase all data on your ipod but it will also reinstall your software which may get music to play again.

If this doesnt work then its a hardware problem which means you need to contact apple or take it into an apple store and attempt to get a replacement. I'm not sure whether it will be covered by warranty.

I've answered this question before, and I got best answer. I'll quote myself:

This will sound strange, but just try it. Put the zune in a large bag (quart size should do) of uncooked white rice overnight. The rice will soak up any moisture from it and hopefully revive it. This works for most electronics.

My friend did this with an iPod that had been inundated in water for hours and it worked.

If that doesn't work, take it to the Apple store and ask if they can replace it. Don't mention that it was in water unless they ask. That can help you get it replaced.

You need to try Silica Gel Packets. There was a good article on iphoneatlas.com that had lots of good reviews about how to dry a wet cell phones, iPods, etc. You need to place your cell phone in a zip lock bag with Silica Gel Packets. Silica Gel will remove all the moisture from the phone and its components, something air drying will not do!

Just Google "Silica Gel Packets" and you will find several companies selling these products. There is also a web site called: http://www.SilicaGelPackets.com that has them.
