My iPhone 2g is stuck on the "connect to iTunes" screen. Can i unlock/jailbreak?

Hi all

My iPhone is telling me to insert a sim to activate it? Is there anyway around this at all? When i use redsn0w it gets stuck on the "booting" screen and doesnt go any further. I have no sim to activate it.

Any help would be apperciated! For the first answer that works will get 10 points!
