Can I ask them to stop? For every holiday or birthday I have, my wife's family always writes a personal message in a card for us ...
It seems nice, but the problem is for the past few years my wife & I have had our share of problems and they often reference those problems in the message. Like for Christmas we got a card that mentioned our financial problems & marriage problems and in my head I'm thinking "wow I really didn't need to be reminded of that in my Christmas card." It was an encouraging message, but at the same time I've started to get a sense of dread every time I get a card from the in-laws...and then I can't put the card on my fridge next to the cards from my parents and grandma because who wants to read that?
Do I just leave this alone or somehow bring it to their attention? If I should bring it to their attention, do I ask my wife to mention it to them or what?
