I am a 20 year old college student with Medicaid, and the oral surgeons in lower Michigan that accept Medicaid are ones that are in Detroit and have really bad crappy offices, and surgeons that won't meet for a pre-op,
or a hospital like St. John's where they have fresh-out-of-dental-school surgeons with like 6 months to five years of experience.
What am I supposed to do? Medicaid was going to cover the $2G cost of the removal + IV sedation. I resorted to going to St. John's but they can't give me an appointment until another 2 months later for my surgery itself!!! I've been in pain for 9 months, and all four are impacted in the x-rays, almost near infection in one spot.
Should I just use my student loan to pay for the surgery at an oral surgeon in my city that doesn't take Medicaid (none of them do). I live on my own, and have no connections to family due to problems.
