I somehow got it back woring magically but it has happend to me 2 times before
I have a late 2008 imac 20' and works perfectly 99.9% of the time
but out of nowhere the computer will It's hard to explain not freeze I can still use the hot keys for itunes fine and close out of a app but nothing else will respond and the back power button just puts it to sleep instead of force it down.
first time the computer was about 48hours old so I thought I may have been playing checking out my new computer and I did something I wasn't supposed to so I did a clean install since I hadn't completed migrating not a big deal right
2 time the computer was about a month old it must have been january 23 and I was understandably pissed and eventually put in the install discs and did a repair and it worked fine all the way up to today
today I was just searching around on the net on like Facebook youtube you get it and it froze I closed safari and I played with my itunes and I made a observation of that for a little while tried restarting once it just turned off the monitor and then I unplugged it to restart it to see the only thing working is my mouse.
I put in the install disc ran to were it tells me what disc I want it on and I relized that the only option that would not make me loose everything would set me back a weak so I decided to that I will call apple before giving it one more try when I reboted everything worked
I was wondering why is this happening
could it be a defective part that may short sometimes or what.
