my ignition switch is stuck in the on position in my 92 honda accord?

i have a 92 honda accord manual transmisson. I drove to work and when i got there the ignition would not turn off. the engine staid running. I stald out the car to cut the engine but as soon as i push on the clutch it starts up again. I'm replacing the starter and the ignition, But i was just checking if anyone knew anything else about this problem.
the starter is starting to smell burned out because it was continually trying to start the engine when i was changing gears.
