my i home wont charge my ipod?

i just recently bought the new ipod nano and i still have my old ihome from my old ipod. however when ever i put my ipod in my ihome it says "charging is not supported with this Accessory" and it will not charge. im not sure what this means and do i need to get a new ihome so that i can have one that will charge my ipod? is there a way i can make it charge? oh and idk if this is important but i have the ihome hi5 and my friend has the same ipod and ihome and it charges hers just fine
