my 4 month old husky puppy has been acting more aggressive and protective than usual. She gets a ton of exercise(out 6-7 times a day for 30-45 minutes). I was thinking that it might be because one of my roommates took her bowl of food right as she was about to start eating. We had out neighbors lab over today, and she flipped out. We have never had another dog in the house before so I was thinking that she was trying to show that it was her territory. Any and all feedback is appreciated.
Thanks,.
the aggression has usually been when you pet her when she is near her food bowl/water bowl, or when she gets a toy/treat. when the lab would touch her toys that were in her area she started to bark up a storm.
eventually, she calmed down and wanted to play with him, but on his way out he passed her area with toys/food and she started to bark at him again.
also, we were only watching the lab for about half an hour, and it was unexpected. our neighbor got locked out and needed to go get his other set of keys, so we weren't really expecting a visit.
