We are working on our 1998 Chevy Cavalier and the timing was off and now it wont stay running. The oil smells like gas and it has a really rough idle. It will not stay running and there is a popping kind of like a backfire in the engine compartment. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Please help... it also has a black smoke coming out of the tail pipe.
