My husband has been having mood swings lately he goes from really happy to pissed off?

I don't know what's up with him but he's being really mean to me for no reason. This morning we were laying in bed and i put my arm around him and he told me not to touch him, when I asked him what was wrong he said "f*ck you" under his breath and I just let it go, it was to early in the morning to drag on an argument. Then after he took a shower he kissed me and he told me he loved me. After dinner we were sitting on the couch and I asked him if he was ok because he's been acting weird lately and he told me he was fine and I said to him "no you're not" and he moved his arm, raised his voice at me and said "what the f*ck do you want from me? I'm fine everything's fine and dandy so chill out with this caring bullsh*t" and he told me he was going for a drive and he left. I don't know what to make of this? He's never like this with me. what's also weird is that I found a pack of cigarettes in his jeans when i was doing the laundry and it was half empty. I've known my husband for 12 years and we've been married for 7 and I've never seen him smoke not once or even smell of smoke...until lately who picks up a habit like that at 26?
