We have a make-shift fish pond made out of a child's wading pool in our backyard with about 12 fish in it which are mainly goldfish and koi. The koi are quite large.
The pond they were in started getting green from algae so my husband cleaned out a large plastic rubbish bin and started putting the fish in that (with the water that was in the pond, not fresh water). That was about 2 hours ago. Now he has finished cleaning the pond and has noticed that the large koi are starting to look sick like they are about to die.What could have caused this and is there anything we can do to make them survive???
BTW, the bin was just to hold them in until the pond is clean and we can put them back, not permanent.
