My HTC Droid Eris sucks...why?

It is ridiculously buggy and just doesn't run well. Very frequently I answer a call and I can't talk to the person. It is just silent. Also I can rarely make a call from my phone. It just doesn't ring after I call. I usually just call from a recent list or my contacts but when I actually want to dial it takes around 5 seconds to register each number I press. When I shutdown the phone and turn it back on the problems are gone for a while but come back within an hour of restarting it.

Other things like apps and music run fairly well I suppose. Well enough at least. However that doesn't really justify the fact that I cannot use it as a PHONE. It is very ANNOYING when your PHONE can do so many cool things besides make a CALL!!!

I should note that I did not have these problems before the most recent update. (2 months ago?)
 
Unfortunately, the update is pretty flawed- you're definitely not alone.. Lots of Erises need to be wiped after the update in order to work correctly again, which I think is what you'll need to do to get it working again.. You can go into any Verizon to have them help you with it, or email me if you wanna do it from home..
 
try dialian *228 and press 2. This updates the phones service in a way and can help the phone work better. If you're still having problems, go to a verizon store
