My hood on my 1996 Buick Regal will not open any more. The plastic lever is destroyed

and pulling the wire...? ...doesn't work anymore. The plastic lever is basically in pieces and the wire seems to be on still but the hood will not pop up. I used to be able to pull the wire, hood would pop then go to the secondary latch and lift the hood. It no longer works. Can anyone help me?
 
only thing lef tis to reach under the front and find the other end of wire and pull it there is sucks but thats what your going to have to do and once you get it open get a new handle and cable and adjust the hood latch so you dont break the next one

Go down to the local fire station and ask if you can borrow their jaws of life tool....that should pry the hood open or better yet unbolt the body from the frame and lift the whole thing up so you can get to the motor.
