I have a 96 Honda Civic. Last year, my car did this thing where I turned the key and heard a click, but it wouldn't start. Everything else came on: the A/C, the dash lights, the radio, even the beeping sound when your seat belt isn't on. My uncle's mechanic went ahead and put in a new starter, a new ignition, he even replaced wires that had been cut when the car was stolen last April. All was well...
Now, one year later this issue has resurfaced. Last week the car did the same thing and took about six or seven tries to start. Yesterday it happened twice; the first time took about five tries and the second time it took about twenty minutes! It has never taken that long to start, even before the mechanic looked at it.
My dad came out and tried to jump it (just because we had no other ideas), but nothing happened. He jiggled the jumper cables and tried again. The second time it started, but we don't know if it was due to jiggling the wires or just a coincidence. Has anyone had a similar problem? Please help!
