My Honda Accord 2005 is hard to stop when first started. What could be the problem?

When I start up my car in the morning and put it in gear,if I apply the brakes, the brakes fail to stop the car unless you push very hard on the brake pedal.
Very scary, dealer says there is nothing wrong; idle is high and there is less vacuum to operate the brakes. I don't agree! Owned car since new.
 
maybe the engine is still cold..try warming it up first before u put it in gear..bcoz when the engine is cold idle is still high. that explains the sudden movement.
