exercise a LOT to lose weight. I'm scared? (a lot of "healthy" calories. Not like a bunch of donuts and soda or something.)
She told us to eat well over 2000 because our metabolism is at it's highest and we should take advantage of it. And that the reason you gain weight in college is because when they're teens, they actually eat less than you should (Even if you didn't think so..) so it lowered the metabolism, and once they got to college.. you might begin to have beer, pizza, etc late at night. So now you have a lower metabolism, but a higher calorie intake.
And it makes sense, and I'm not doubting her.
But I'm trying to lose 10 pounds at 5'3" (I'm 120 pounds. And I WANT to lose FAT weight, don't tell me not to.) the right way... but I don't know the right way.
What I've been doing was eating less calories. And it's working. She said that it works, but that you lose muscle too. I don't want that..
And to actually burn fat, you have to stay in your target heart rate for at least 20 minutes.........
so do I really need to eat that much?
I don't need to eat that many to feel full.
Would I need that many if I were really really active?
Is she suggesting that's what we do?
... thanks for any help!!
