My headset Microphone won't work... what should I do?

I have a Dynex headset/microphone. I went to use it to record my newest song and it wouldn't work. I discovered that my little sister had spilled some coke on it a couple days ago. She just wiped it off and put it back. I've tried numerous ways of trying to revive it. but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions? I can't afford to buy a new one.
 
boycot microsoft maybe?

apple products are supposedly alot better, more durable, i mean can you drop a windows mobile in a pool and it stil work? nope, but i know the iPhone 3GS has been dropped in a pool while recording and it stil worked under the water and when pulled out
