My headset isn't working when i plug it into the front panel of my hp pavilion a820n...

...comp. w/ msi motherboard? i have logitech headphones and harman/kardon speakers plugged into the back that work fine
i just bought the headset and it works fine with sound when i plug them into the speakers but when in the front panel i hear nothing and no voice
