My hairline, I'd like some help on nurturing it please!?

I noticed that the right side of my hairline is slightly receding more than the left -- however, when I blow dry my hair my hairline looks completely equal, as the baby hairs or whatever on the left side still seem to be there so it throws off the evenness. Why would this happen on one side and not the other lose the baby hairs as well?

Additionally, I was wondering if brushing the scalp would grow hair back, even if it has "receded" around the hairline a little. I have a boar's bristle comb and would like very much to know if this is true or not -- I mean, how could brushing the hair grow it back?

By the way no males in my family are bald and my hair is as curly as a black man's, so I don't want to hear garbage about genetics because it's null and void in this situation.

However I have also been under stress and loss of sleep and poor diet so I suppose that could be a big issue. My main thing is, why the left/right sides being weird, and does brushing the scalp -- will it, possibly, help nurture hairs to grow, even around the hairline? Many thanks, this is quite important to me!
