I bought a new laptop for my birthday a couple of months back, and I immediately installed Google Chrome because that's what I've always used. It's worked fine since it was installed, until just a couple of days ago. Every time I open, it comes up with "This webpage is not available. The webpage at http://mail.google.com/mail might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address." My internet connection (through wi-fi) is up and working on my regular desktop computer, and it shows on my laptop that I have full bars. No other browser installed on my laptop will open the internet. I heard that it was because of firewall protection, but I allowed Chrome through it and it still wouldn't work. I also (very hesitantly) turned off my firewall to see if that was the problem, and no such luck. Could someone please explain what is happening? I miss my laptop!
BTW It runs Windows 7, if that helps. My Chrome is version 7.0.517.41. Thanks!
