Complicated situation 
December 15th 2007 I was dating a woman i was completely "in love" with (or so i thought). We were in my car, a 2004 Dodge Neon that only I was insured on with liability coverage but SHE was driving. My girlfriend then ran a stop sign and T-boned a van, totaling both vehicles. She told me to tell the police I was driving the vehicle. At the time I wasnt very familiar with my policy (stupid I know) and I figured she wanted me to take the fall to make sure all the damages were covered since it was my car (found out later she just didnt want a ding on her record). I recently found out that all of the damages would have been covered if I would have just told the police and insurance company she totaled the vehicle. Is there anything I can do to get this off my record and on hers? can i take her to civil court and sue? very fuc*ed up situation and i know technically i lied to the insurance company and to the police. I didnt know what else to do......but is there anything I can do about this?
please no smart ass remarks. i made a mistake and im paying for it......i just wanted to protect my girlfriend
