My gf is on the pill, is it ok to have sex ?

She takes it regularly and I have spoke to her about everything.
I'm just not convinced about leaving the fate of my life in a chemical I can't see.
I wanted to use a condom and she said thats fine even though she hates them. . . Is it safe ? Can anyone explain how the pill works ?
(we are both 18 and i'm a virgin)

hi hun,the pill will only protect against pregnancy,not sti's or std's so a condom is your best bet.no contraception is 100% its best to use 2 different ones.if your not comfortable then use a condom,dont let anyone force you into doing something your not comfortable with and well done for being responsible.only wish more 18 year olds were.good for you
 
providing she takes them on time, and everyday, then things are fine, however if she is sick or has diarreah at any time, you need to use a condom for 7 days after as the pill can leave the system when vomiting or the other occurs.
it would be best for you both to use a condom anyways, unless your gf, has been tested for any std's im not saying she has any, but better safe than sorry, also if she needs to take anti-biotics at any time, condoms must be used during the course of the tablets and again 1 week after
 
pill is fine as long as she takes it im sure some girls below me will explain the lovely details =)

You are very wise in using a condom. Not only does it ensure against disease, you can never be sure that your g/f is taking her pill correctly. (no slur on her meant here) The pill is considered to be 99% effective, but things can change that - sickness or antibiotics for instance. Stay safe - use the condoms!
