My Iphone never did this to me, and I liked this G1 pretty cool phone... such a bummer im going to run it over with my Nissan later today from pure anger that this piece of crap keeps turning off on me for no reason...
PLEASE HTC MAKE A MORE RELIABLE PHONE" with less bugs!.Someone help me! i don't want to run this phone over! cause I like it..

I sold mines a week ago, before I did I had the phone checked, and I noticed something that this may help you... My G1 started giving me problems after I changed my chip from a contract to a non contract... so that may be the probelm... I sold my G1 and am gettinga nother Iphone within a month. My brother has a connection up North for 3GS 16 gig white for 400.00 no contract! I can't wait!

Mine does the same thing, except it's a little different. After it shuts down, I can't turn it on unless the phone is connected to the charger. The battery is fine, though. If I don't connect it to a charger and I check my phone later on, sometimes it'll still be off and other times it'll turn itself on. If it's not connected to a charger and I'm using it, it'll turn off after a few minutes of use. If I'm not using it, though, it stays on. Wth?

At first, I thought it was the battery, but couldn't find anything wrong with my battery. Then I thought maybe it was the screen, but it's not since the phone TURNS OFF everytime. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Mine does exactly what yours is doing Neon. I went to T-Mo and the guy said my phone was "power looping" or something like that. He said I had a few options. I could either push my free upgrade and get the vibrant, buy a new battery, or get a new phone altogether (my G1 is on extended warranty). I was thinking of getting the vibrant but that very day I heard about the Glacier so I've decided to wait it out and see what thats all about. So I either have to get a new battery or a new G1. Leaning towards the new battery right now because I dont want to have to root my phone again. I'll probably be picking it up today so I'll post if the issue is resolved or not.

Another one here haha, mine does exactly the same.. it wont turn back on without the charger.. and when its back on it says its charging at like 80 odd % It's really getting on my nerves now so hopefully going to get it sent back on saturday.. if not sooner. I've had it just over a year and can't upgrade till at least mid november :\ so lets just hope it gets sorted or i'm gunna make an insurance claim.

I've had my G1 since it came out but only after the last system update did it start messing with the phone every time i use google maps. web browser, and lastly try to download any app does the phone shut off and the only way for it to turn back on is for me to plug it to the charger otherwise i can turn it on 10 to 15 times and it will only display the G1 logo but shut right back again i called t-mobile and was asked to take the phone to the store so that a tech can trouble shoot it which i have done and all i was told was to call t-mobile to get a replacement so after i called they said that i have to file a claim with assurion to get a replacement but that way I'm getting charged a 100 deductible which sucks im looking to change companys after all this
'
i wish all of you the best of luck with this issue i tried but got nothing
