...screen, then to the "windows" .? then a small blip of a blue screen, then it reboots and goes back to the "how would you like to start windows, safe mode, command prompt, etc." screen. Regardless of what I select it begins the cycle again. I've also attempted changing the boot sequence, bios diagnostics, and still the cycle repeats. I cannot make a repair disc at the moment, from my laptop, as my blank cd's are at home. I have a flash drive but that's all. 11 gigs. Additionally, for clarification purposes, I cannot get to the command prompt, or into windows (xp) in any mode. Can anyone advise of a fix please? Thank you kindly!

thank you sir! I do not have my windows cd. it's a county away. [i will try that once the opportunity presents itself] I am running windows 7, he is running xp. Is there a way I can make the equivalent of a boot disc for him using a usb flash drive? thanks again! many thanks!
