My friend, who I like, is acting weird all of a sudden!?

I was at a party last night and my friends told my crush that I liked him. My friends said he was looking for me, but when they asked him again why he wanted me, he said he never wanted me. He always walked close to me, looked up fast, then looked down pretending to be texting on his phone. His friend also kept yelling at me that he didnt like me. When I went back in and started dancing, he looked at me continuosly from the corner of his eyes and then grinned. Why does he keep doing this?
