My friend was claiming JSA for 5 months. He's 27 and had always paid taxes, and needed some extra money when he lost his home etc.

He knew it was wrong, and after we had a chat, he stopped his claim.

He is genuinely a very good person, i have known him for many years. He was just a little silly and needed some extra help, and he couldn't get it from anyone, he even ended up on the street and i think he was so annoyed as he could see these foreign people being helped and put in new homes and yet, he couldn't get any help.

He is back on his feet now and has a new home and new job etc, and he was claiming JSA still for about 4 / 5 months.

I had a talk with him yesterday and he knows it was wrong and he has cancelled his claim.

Now he is worried, as some people are saying he will be caught and sent to prison etc, some people are saying he may get away with it and not to EVER do it again, but he;s worried and i'm genuinely worried for him.

Any idea on how this works? Thanks :)
