My friend and her new Samsung cell phone?

1. Her parents can see how many minutes she uses, the phone number of the person of who she sent a text message and who she called and how long she talked.

2. Verizon M2M (Mobile-to-Mobile) is only available through phone calls, not through texts.

3. If someone from another network called or sent a text message to her, it would affect her minutes. If it affects the other person's minutes depends on their plan and their carrier, so I don't have the specific knowledge to answer that question.

4. If she is uploading pics to her social networking site directly from her phone, it may cost extra money from data. If it is on a memory card, it will be fine. It depends on her phone how to upload onto her computer.

5. I don't know how to help you about the texting question. There are many different Samsung phones that Verizon carries. If you add details to this question with the model, I'll edit my answer and tell you any more information or tips.

Hope I helped.

So my friend's parents gave her an early birthday present today - a cell phone. It's a very nice one )A Samsung). The guy told her parents they could "spy" on her and see how many minutes she uses. Does this mean they can see who she calls/texts, or if they can just see how many minutes she's used? Also, it's a Verizon phone... they said she will have unlimited to fellow Verizon users - Does this mean texting AND calling? She only has I think 500 or 700 "anytime" minutes. I think they might be shared between her and her mom and dad though, I'm not sure.

She was wondering though - if someone from a different Network called or texted her, would it affected her minutes, it would it just affect the person who called/texted her? Or would it affect BOTH people's minutes? I don't know about any of this because I don't have a cell phone so I can't really help her.

Also, she is planning on uploading some pics to her social networking sites tonight using her cell phone since it's a camera phone. Is this safe to do as long as she labels them friends only or private so only people she says can see them? And how would she go about uploading them from her cell phone to her computer?

With texting, how can she type the little symbolls above the ABC and numbers on her texting pad? She tried "Shift" but it didn't show up. What does she do?

Is there any other info she needs to know about this phone? Any other tips?
It's a Samsung Intensity
How can her parents see what numbers she calls/texts and who calls/texts her? She's not going to do anything bad... her mom was like "well... we don't NEED to spy on her... she's a good kid". So, can they like... get rid of that feature or something?
Her parents can't see what the texts say, right? How do they even check and see this kind of stuff? Online?
Can they see just the person's number or their name too? And can they see if she's uploaded pics or not?
Another question, not to sound stupid - but if she's calling/texting people who have Verizon like her, it won't affect her minutes, right? Sorry for all the questions - she just wants to be sure she proves she appreciates her gift and that she doesn't go over her minutes. I don't think her parents would be happy if she did that, especially her dad. He'd probably get rid of her phone.
