My foxy/JR has a broken hip after a car hit him?

Okay here's the situation, Dogs hide pain. They will act as if nothing is wrong. put the dog in a room with a window and go outside and look in without being seen and you'll have the real picture. If his hip is broken, I am sorry but there are only two choices: 1: have the dog tended by a licensed vet. 2: have the dog humanely put to sleep. I know this is not what you wanted to hear but as a dog owner who has been through the broken hip issue with my own pet, and no money for a vet I can assure you it is not humane to let your dog suffer. Home doctoring is acceptable on some level but this is beyond what you can do. Even if your dog heals the bone will most likely not set properly and your dog will be in constant pain and be unable to walk right for the rest of it's life. I live in the U.S. and we have the ASPCA you may have something similar near you and not know it. Please if you love your dog (and I'm sure you do) look for any animal rescue or animal shelter. sometimes they can offer low cost and even free treatment for your dog.

P.S. They will often come to you.

My little jack russell/foxy x was hit by a car this morning. The only damage i can ascertain is that he has a broken hip. We are both on pensions and don't have the resources for a vet, plus we live in remote Australia and the vet is miles away. We have him all strapped up and he seems happy and not in pain. Has anyone done home doctoring for this condition and do you have any tips for me?

Is there any vet at all you can get him too?
My family is on pensions too, and our vet lets us make a payment schedule in emergencies.
If their is any vet you can get him to, or even one that will come out and arrange a payment plan with that would be best for him.

Otherwise make sure he doesn't move that leg a lot, and keep him resting as much as possible. You also may need to make sure its strapped up in the right position so its helping and not making it worse. But this should still be a temporary solution.

As others have said, the best option is the vet. So I really advise you to try and find a way to get him to one, or have a vet come to you. A lot of vets are happy to work out payment plans.

Good luck :)
