My Ford Ranger wont work in reverse?

My truck drives fine. But when I need to back up and put it in reverse it won't go back? I does just a little bit but wont go? Any suggestions..??? "Please Help Me"
 
Sounds like a problem in your shift linkage. Fords have always had a problem with that. Transmissions can be difficult to work on so you are best going to a mechanic.
