Info about my tank:
-Has been running the fishless cycle for about one week now
-Has fake plants
-A good running filter
-Air stones (3) (bacteria need good aeration)
-Heater (currently 85 degrees F) also I know the higher the temperature, the faster the bacteria multiplies
-Turned of the light
My concern is that the ammonia has not dropped down since I started this fishless cycle. It is still b/w 4-6 ppm ammonia. I used pure ammonia from ACE hardware. I only put in the ammonia once and waited for it to drop which it did not. I even did a massive 50% water change, and the ammonia is the same?!?! I use the API Liquid Masterkit.
I checked for nitrites, and that is still 0 ppm.
Plz dont suggest to put filter media or gravel from another established tank because I dont have any contact with anyone that has that. Also please dont recommend to use fish because the purpose for me to even to do the fishless cycle was to not kill any fish in the process.
Help plz!
