Hi! Ok, i have gone throughh 3 filters in the past year, and my room smells so bad still!! i have a ten gallon tank. How do i cure this? help!
i have changed the cartridges, if my ammonia is high, how do i lower it?

You have to lower the ammonia with partial changes of water ever 3 days.

If your amonia is high, that means you need to preform more partial water changes. just because you have a filter doesn't mean that you don't have to do anything. You still need to do partial water changes *depending on the size of your tank. Try a 25-30% water change* Do this once to twice a week till you get rid of your amonia reading.

The lack of water changes can and often will cause a odor as well.

maybe to much fish.... or goldfish... anyways they make chemicals that you can put in your tank to make not smell as bad...

Maybe a fish jumped out one day and is still in the room. Mind you dead fish smell terrible....
